Our little "Free-Spirit".

Paris--we will miss you!! Posted by Hello

Not so happy news.

We got some pretty horrible news today, my sister Cyndi lost one of her "furbabies" last night in a tragic accident. Cyndi's youngest fur-baby & sister to Tulsa & the newest member of our family, Paris died yesterday. It was very sudden--nothing that any of us expected, so it came as a shock to hear the news of her passing. Paris & her brother Tulsa got out of the yard, unfortunately the unthinkable happened and Paris was hit by a car. A kind couple was nearby and found Tulsa in the middle of the road, standing over his sister, protecting her. The couple said Tulsa wouldn't leave Paris behind as they pleaded with him to come to them to get him out of the road. They finally had to pick up Paris & carry her over just to save him from getting hit, unfortunately it was too late--Paris didn't make it. It was truly God who led Cyndi directly to this same couple after an hour of searching that night & was able to know where they were and what happened. Today, Cyndi was able to locate Tulsa at the pound & identify Paris....Tulsa is home now and Paris' remains will be too by Tuesday.

When I got home to share the news with Lola & Sophie, I asked them to say a prayer for their cousin Tulsa & Auntie Cyndi, they quickly reminded me that all of their Puggie & non-pug fur-friends who have already passed will be waiting for Paris on Rainbow Bridge with open arms!

I cry for the first time as I write this, thinking about what my sister is going through and wishing I could be there to comfort her....even if for nothing else but to just be there.

I wasn't lucky enough to have met Paris but I loved her anyway & I will miss her.....I knew she made my sister & Tulsa happy and that was most important. Paris....as my sister described her....always pushed the limits & never backed down from a challenge. She is what I would call a "free-spirit"--I know it's sad but now she is a TRUE free-spirit, running & playing while still staying close enough to Mommy & brothers heart....she's watching over us.

Walking for a "PAWS"

We are getting out our walking shoes.....getting out our harnesses & leads and getting ready for the walk of our life! Just kidding....well maybe not the walk of our life but we are going for a big walk. My mom and I (Sophie) are participating in "Paws in the Park" pet walk. This is an event to help raise funds for the Humane Society of Tulsa. We are currently taking all pledges to help raise funds to keep Humane Society a no-kill environment for all the doggies and kitties out there who haven't been lucky enough to find their forever home yet. If you'd like to send a pledge to me & my mommy please email her and she'll let you know what to do! All the little doggies & kitties will be eternally grateful! I, Sophie, was rescued because I was abandoned by my first owner. I was lucky enough to have the help of Midwest Pug Rescue
and wonderful foster parents who took care of me until my new mommy and daddy finally found me. I know what it's like to need a home & if it wasn't for all the help, donations, love & support of those people I may not have been here today! So if you can find it in your heart to help out in any way....PLEASE DO....your kindness will forever be appreciated!

A rare family picture....the only one taken of everyone together the ENITRE weekend! Posted by Hello

Spending time with family.

Although they've only been gone a week, we really miss having our aunties, uncle & grandma around! We had a great weekend last week. Here's the story. The weekend of Mother's Day just happened to be Mommy's birthday weekend too (actually Mom's birthday was on Mother's Day). Well Mom & our Auntie surprised Grandma with a one-of-a-kind Mother's Day gift!! Everyone came into Oklahoma for a tiny family reunion. Grandma just thought she was coming in for our Mommy's birthday. She had NO idea Auntie Cyndi had flown in from California or Auntie Suzie & Uncle Jay drove in ALL the way from Wisconsin. What a surprised look on her face when she walked in the door to see all of them sitting on our livingroom couch! She was so shocked!! Needless to say it was a once in lifetime gathering since we all live in different parts of the U.S., but it sure did mean a lot to our Mommy to have everyone in our little house! Thanks for helping us make Mommy's birthday & Mother's Day special for both our Mom & G.G.!!
We love you guys and can't wait for you guys to come back to visit & spoil us again!

The battle for the sock. By Yvonne Jacobson

This has gone on for as long as I can remember. Lola has this obsessiong with my socks....and only my socks. She doesn't do this to dad...only me. It never fails.....everyday it's a fight to the finish for my sock. Lola WILL NOT give up until she has tugged, pulled and ripped at least one of my socks off. Then once it's off she shakes it around like she's ripping it apart...I mean she growls and everything. Don't get me wrong, she's not vicious in anyway but it's like she's showing me she's boss. I can't tell you what drives her into this mad rage but something comes over her the minute I take my shoes off. I can see it in her eyes......she watches every move I make and then pounces on my foot like a lion attacking it's prey. It was funny at first but since I've had to several pairs of socks since January I knew I had to put my foot down--haha get it "foot-down" ;0)!!! As you can see from the pictures she's got a pretty tight kung-fu grip on it and doesn't let go until it comes off on it's own or I fight her for it!

Anyway, I had to share this tug-of-war match....it's pretty funny how entertaining dogs can be.

P.S. No I wasn't wearing the shoes that are pictured in this photo with my socks either.....just a bit of FYI!! :0)
