Her BIG Day.
O's party went off without a hitch. Everyone who helped me stay on track and help me stay organized....I thank you! It was fun to plan (yes stressful) & totally worth it! She only turns ONE once....RIGHT! So we went all out! Here are some pictures from her day! We had good food, good friends & family....and lots of fun! And you can't forget the Pinata....no party is complete without one no matter how old you are!!

So here is the latest.
So now that I've got my blog all polished up & changed the domain name, I made it for our family...I'll give you a little update on our happenings!
We are preparing for the BIG day. O will be turning one in a few weeks....this is a BIG deal in our house. We are also preparing for the arrival of the The G Family and possibly my Dad! So lots of fun stuff to get ready for. Anyway.........we also just had O dedicated. That was an experience...and very beautiful one! Pastor Ed prayed that they will be the salt & light of the earth. It was pretty amazing. I'm happy we found a chruch we both really like and finally had the opportunity to get O dedicated....that was important to me! (thank you Auntie Ninnie for encouraging me to go)
We do still have the pugs....in fact we have three. Lola & Sophie and then we added an older pug--Big Ben (he'll be 13 in July) about a year and a half ago....and while he's brought a lot of medical issues with him...I wouldn't trade him for anything in the world. He's really a good guy....and LOVES his humans. Not to mention.........O adores him!

Also....here are some cute pics of her being...welll...her!

Anyway, here are some pictures of our weekend with Bernie (The Dogfather) and Maddie (The Queen Pug). Once we get back into the swing of things, we promise to post more often. OH YEAH we have a new blog...it's on myspace...mom created a Lola & Sophie Myspace for us! It's fun...we've met LOTS of new pug friends!!! If you get a chance stop by and check it out!!

Introducing Harry The Beast!
Well Mom has finally lost it!!! Her and Dad agreed to foster a little Pug Puppy by the name of Harry! We can't understand WHY they'd want to torture us but they have! The first day was fun...but after 3 days of constant chasing..is wearing us out! Because we love our Mommy & know how much this means to her, especially because Harry had a rough first couple months of his life, we will tolerate it and hope the next few months will go quickly!!! HAHAHAHA! Anyway, here is a little clip of what our life is like now that we have a pesky little foster brother!! We call him Harry the Beast!!!

A GREAT loss in Pugdom.
Over lunch today Mama told us of the sad news of the loss of a Great Pug by the name of Stymie! We had the chance to meet Stymie at Pugtona in June & he will forever hold a special place in our hearts! He was one special Pug...he had been with his Mommy for about 15 years...he spent most of his life attached to the hip to his Mama (literally). He gave new meaning to the term "Mama's Boy"....but he was well worth the spoiling. Over the last year Stymie got really sick but through it all he remained a distinquished "GENTLEman", complaining very little & never lost his spunk. His Mama's only wish was to have ONE last Christmas with her sweet man,Stymie. Being the kind soul that he was, he granted his Mama's wish & stuck around so he could wake up one more time with his Mama on Christmas morning! That is exactly what he did....unfortunately, it was finally his time & he crossed Rainbow Bridge last night....knowing how much he meant to his Mama he gave her her last Christmas wish....now he can rest in peace knowing his life is now complete! And although Kathy will miss him more than ANYONE could possibly imagine, he's no longer in hurting & can now run pain free forever....and one day all of the hurting Kathy is feeling now will being to fade away & she can start to feel peace that his life was well lived! He is now her Guardian Angel! We've posted some pictures of the sweet guy....he has truly touched so MANY lives across the United States...he will be missed...GREATLY!We LOVE you Stymie....may you rest in peace!
Love Your Forever Friends,
Lola & Sophie

Another GREAT loss....

This month has been a tough one for those with Senior Pugs.....we have lost some great Pugs. Our good Friend, Lisa (Midwest Pug Rescue) lost her Ol' Pug JB, her BEST friend....he has been around since the beginning of time....about 14 plus years! She got the news that he was very sick and it all happened so quickly....she was devastated....I know she will be GREATLY miss him! We all will, he was one of those Pugs who touch you the minute you meet him and have a FOREVER hold on your heart!! We had the pleasure of him meeting at Pugtona this year...he stole my heart the instant I saw him...I didn't know who he belongned to at first, he just sat there, so clam and sweet looking...I was smitten!!! Lisa is the reason we have Sophie in our home...and we will hold her in our thoughts and our prayers during this time....it's so tough to lose your best friend.....he was such Mama's Boy and she loved him so!
Rest in peace sweet JB!!

Happy Thanksgiving......
Here are Some Holiday Tips For You and Your Best Friend:
The holiday season is upon us and is a great time of year when families and friends get together to share meals and each other’s company. We hope you will include your best friend in all the festivities, but be careful of some traditions that can be harmful. The Humane Society of the United States offers these holiday tips:
**Certain plants such as Mistletoe berries, and the leaves, stem and flowers of the Poinsettia can be dangerous to pets. Be sure to keep these plants well out of the reach of animals in your home, or consider using artificial versions.
**Foods and drinks such as alcoholic beverages, seeds and pits from many fruits, chocolate, macadamia nuts, walnuts, coffee, tea, salt, onions, and other foods can be harmful to pets.
**Never feed pets leftovers from the dinner table. Items such as chicken bones can easily shatter and choke cats and dogs.
**Decorations such as tinsel, glass ornaments and garlands can easily attract pets, but are dangerous choking hazards. Electric decorations such as stringed lights can give your pets a shock should they chew on the wires. Keep decorations out of their reach.
**The unusual commotion of the holiday season can be stressful on animals as well as humans. **Put your pets in a quiet room or quiet area of the house when guests are visiting.
**All we would add is to remember that we are all creatures of habit. Try your best to keep your four-legged friends routine consistent throughout the season. And, when the stress gets to be too great for either of you, some quite time, a long walk or a trip to your local petstore for a special treat always seems to help calm the nerves.
With all that said...Have a safe and FUN Thanksgiving....and don't forget to VOTE for me and Sophie everyday until the end of the month!!!
